It goes without saying that globally it has been yet another tumultuous few weeks with both positive and negative actions taking place… Seeing activism on such a huge scale makes me super proud of our grit and determination as a collective. On the flip side trying to fathom how someone gained so much power in the first place along with trying to understand their thought processes and behaviour… Well, it makes my head spin. Speaking in a more personal sense it feels like the majority of this month has sailed by rather uneventfully. However there have been a few stand out moments and also some mini accomplishments that are worth a mention.
Most exciting slash scary thing up first… I’m running the London Marathon! If you didn’t catch my earlier announcement, you can check it out here. It’s definitely not something I thought I’d be doing in a hurry but when the opportunity presented itself, it felt like a no-brainer. So far the training has been going really well and dare I say it, has almost rekindled my love of running. Either way, I’m feeling great! Ticking those sessions off the plan one by one and feeling fitter and more motivated as I work my way through them. I’m enjoying the structure and the fact that I can combine my love for swimming and cycling with getting marathon ready. As I get further into my training I’ll share more specific info… Sessions, kit essentials, recovery tips and what not.
At the end of 2016 I made the commitment to blog consistently and set up a little something with my email marketing. Both of these things, I have achieved! Blogging 3+ times per week alongside one fairly in depth mailer going live each week. It perhaps doesn’t sound like a lot but it has definitely taken some time and discipline so I’m pretty happy with the result, this little space of ours is flourishing and making the hard work totally worth it. Consistency, consistency, consistency. (The more I say it, the easier it gets, right?)
The other half of Break The Loop has been buried in the studio working like crazy these past few months so coupled with a bit of him not feeling so great, January has definitely had a lingering air of ‘just-get-your-head-down-and-get-on-with-it’. February rings in his birthday and with it a little opportunity to take some downtime away from the desk and perhaps focus more on the projects that he really wants to be spending his time on.
The weekend just passed I enjoyed a night at the Hoxton in Shoreditch before watching Adrienne absolutely smash her talk on Body Confidence at Fresh + Fit Fest. She totally nailed it and we all left feeling 10ft tall, unapologetically us and so proud of the sisterhood. It was such a great weekend filled with friends – both old and new, inspiration and a couple of stunning runs around the City. The hotel has such a cool vibe, I’m definitely planning on booking another little mini staycation with the boy, time to get planning that perfect London getaway.
First up though, time to be a grown up and tackle that monster tax bill. Who else got a not so pleasant surprise?

I can’t believe it’s February tomorrow. Sometimes it feels like January will never end, but this year it’s whipped by. Personally, I’m really pleased with how my marathon training is going and of course I’m SO happy to have you as a training buddy now too! 🙂 xxxx

Ahh thanks! Labour of love for sure but a labour nonetheless! Ha! 1 blog a week is still impressive, I was probably on 1 a fortnight before! And I’m lucky in that I work to my own schedule most days so it makes it much easier! 😉 Will definitely share more of my plan, probably after the first month is done…
