Yes, that’s right… A whole blog post dedicated to finding those interior-goals, totally lust-worthy, stylish matte black taps. I’m aware that getting excited about such things makes me about 100 years old but I’ve drunk the kool-aid, you guys. I’m into it. As you know, here at Break The Loop HQ we’re knee deep in renovating our country ‘pile’ and we have spent a not insubstantial amount of time obsessing over these details. We have been advised though that we’re not being totally frivolous – when it comes to taps and bathroom fixtures and fittings the advice is as follows…
‘Spend as much money as you can possibly afford.’
Ok, well if you insist! Seriously though, we were told this by a friend with years and years of experience in renovating and running properties and he was adamant that the money saved on cheaper fittings, would always be compensated for (and then some) in repairs and replacements down the line.
We have done the legwork, so you don’t have to. Here is our round-up of what we think are some of the most stylish matte black taps on the market right now. We have tried not to go too crazy on the prices but if you’re anything like us then even the mention of Bert & May, makes our eyes water a bit.
ONE & TWO – Lusso Stone | THREE – Meir Black | FOUR – Bert & May | FIVE & SIX – Lusso Stone | SEVEN – Bert & May
We have gone for matte black fixtures and fittings for both bathrooms but I think we’ll switch it up with brass or copper in the kitchen, although we’re still not 100% on that. It’s definitely trickier finding brass / copper taps that don’t look super cheap, unless you can spend a small fortune, of course.
We’re at a slight pause in the renovation process at the moment whilst we figure out a new heating system (we think we’re going air source). I literally can’t wait to get things moving again, I have everything crossed for a pre-Christmas move-in date.
