I thought I’d swing by here to give you a house renovation update… I was supposed to be in London right now, prepping for one of our events at The Hoxton this evening but Mother Nature clearly had other ideas… With the terrible weather and transport being all over the place, after chatting to the gals at The Hox, we decided to cancel and so here I am! The plasterers were supposed to be in today so I was hoping to have a much more finished house to show you but either way, we’re pretty much at the halfway point! It’s so close I can almost touch it!!! Once the plasterers have been in and worked their magic, we can get in and decorate and I’m practically beside myself with excitement!!
I’m definitely someone that needs to have my surroundings exactly as I like them, not in that I’m a neat freak (Dan wishes!) or anything like that, I just like to be settled. As lucky as we are right now with our rented accommodation, we’re very much in-between and living out of boxes is getting super old. Working from home means that there’s no escape and honestly, my brain just needs to be in the house and organised now.
It will also make creating content a much easier and more enjoyable task!
The upstairs bathroom is almost done, it just needs decorating, lights and mirror fitting and then a good clean before I fill it up to the brim with lush little beauty products and candles galore. The downstairs toilet is also done but it’s windowless and really hard to shoot whilst it’s still minus lighting, so one shot is all you’re getting!
As for the rest of the house, all the walls are in… we’re just waiting on that plasterer.
So, without further ado… Break The Loop HQ exactly as is, right now.
Kitchen…
Hallway (downstairs toilet at the end)…
Downstairs toilet… We managed to move our boiler into here and I’m so glad we did! Not only was it a bloody eyesore in the kitchen but it took up so much space! We wouldn’t have bothered but seeing as we had to replace the whole heating system anyway, it made sense.
Living room…
Main bedroom…
Bathroom…
I’ve just realised that I totally forgot to shoot the spare bedroom… Fail! Anyway, nothing exciting in there to show you so you’re not really missing out on anything wild.
(Excuse the edit on these images, I was really feeling the grainy film vibe so just went with it!)
When it’s finished and decorated we’ll do a full room-by-room tour with links to everything and how to’s for everything we made ourselves.
In the middle of renovating a house? I’m thinking of putting together a whole post with everything we’ve figured out along the way – we’ve learnt stuff the hard way, so that you don’t have to. We’re nice like that.
