I’ve recently been feeling various niggles when running longer distances (slightly / very worrying with Paris being so close!) so I’ve been trying to switch up my workouts to vary the impact. I’ve been swimming as much as possible (although I’ve developed quite the chlorine allergy which is making life interesting), doing a fair bit of riding and we’re also in the process of turning our spare garage into a gym! I’m aware that sentence doesn’t adequately convey the excitement about this home-gym situation but rest assured, I’m pretty damn excited! Anyway, even though the space isn’t quite ready yet, I’ve been having some fun utilising all of our new equipment, enter today’s MetCon workout…
If you’re looking for a total lung-buster, look no further! You do need a bit of space and somewhere to aim your wall balls at but aside from that, it’s a pretty simple workout. (You could also do it in the gym, using a treadmill.)
Warm up – Do 5 minutes or so of whatever you like to get the heart pumping and blood flowing.
Glute activation – We then did some banded monster walks to activate our glutes (Glutes, you listening? I know you’re in there somewhere!)
Then, repeat the following exercises x 4, for time (as fast as you can).
It’s a bit of a b**** I’m not gonna lie. But, just think about how good you’ll feel afterwards, once you’ve had a nap, of course.
I really wasn’t feeling it today after a week of back-to-back workouts and yesterday being a double workout day so I spent about 20 minutes beforehand listening to music on my new Panasonic TCM360 headphones and getting myself in the zone. Whilst these headphones aren’t necessarily the ones I’d use to workout in, as they’re not sport-specific, they’re perfect for everyday activities and fit really comfortably in your ears, they look good, too!
This post is written in collaboration with Panasonic although all thoughts and opinions are, as always, my own.
Looks like a good workout this. CANNOT WAIT to see your home gym, gonna be so jealous!
It definitely did the job!! 😀
