Whew… It’s been a minute! Life has been a bit all over the place recently, you might have seen on Instagram I recently had some sad news about an old friend of mine, which coincided with a trip to the South of France that had been planned a while ago… To say it’s been a mix of emotions would be an understatement but there you go! I hope everyone is doing well? Thanks for sticking around despite the radio silence, I’m on a post planning mission right now so I’ll make sure that there’s lots of juicy content going up over the next few weeks. On that note, how are we halfway through March already!? The flowers that we planted just a few short months ago are already springing up out of the ground, the rhubarb is pretty much ready for picking (the garden is clearly as confused as I am with all this strange weather we’ve been having).
The courtyard is also undergoing a transformation of sorts – before we signed on the dotted line with our Clockhouse our neighbour sneakily bought some of our courtyard (bah humbug – we love them really though) and part of the agreement was that they would re-wall the space so that it didn’t look any different for us, minus the loss of space, of course… Here we are nearly two years later and the trenches are finally being dug (I swear I can see the earth’s core, they’re so deep!) and the courtyard will soon be ready for us to figure out what the heck we’re gonna do with it! So far I haven’t seen a single bit of garden furniture that I like, thinking we might build something in… who knows, watch this space. Roll on BBQ’s and Aperol spritzes in the courtyard!
As I mentioned above, I’ve just got back from a few days on the French Riviera with my friend Rory, it was so good to catch up with her, enjoy some girl time, drink lots of vin rouge, spend a bit of time by the ocean (despite 60mph winds!) and get a little feel for life in the Beaulieu bubble, as it’s affectionately known… Not that we’re thinking of moving just yet, but an extended holiday wouldn’t hurt! (Might as well get in there before the full force of Brexit kicks in, right?!)
Now, I’m off to tackle my inbox and get my head back in the game. I’m not gonna lie, a few days off has me feeling like a bit of a space cadet… thankful to be reunited with my coffee machine aka lifeline.
Let’s do this!
